Sedgefield’s first proper taxi rank
The Knysna Municipality recently opened Sedgefield’s first proper taxi rank. Until the building of this facility, commuters made use of a few parking spaces in the town’s Main Street.

Recycle drums for schools
The Knysna Municipality has provided 14 local schools with 42 bins for recycling as part of an ongoing initiative to raise environmental awareness and encourage sustainable waste management practices in communities.
Knysna Executive Mayor Georlene Wolmarans officially handed over three plastic drums to the Sedgefield Primary in Smutsville on 13 June. With her are head boy Chadwin van Rooyen, head girl Luzandré Pedro and school vice-principal Rika Els.Click on the green heading for more information.

Increasing theft of manhole and stormwater covers in Knysna has prompted the Knysna Municipality to issue a warning to residents to take care on roads and sidewalks.

ESKOM APPEAL: Save power between 5pm and 9pm
Eskom needs your help to reduce electricity usage every day from 5pm to 9pm.
The national electricity system is currently operating under constrained conditions and is in RED alert. This is due to a high number of technical problems being experienced on the ageing Eskom generation plant.
